Ingredients

tequila
  • 2 oz blanco tequila
orange liqueur
  • 1 oz orange liqueur
cranberry juice
  • 1.5 oz cranberry juice
apple cider
  • 1 oz apple cider
lime juice
  • 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
maple syrup
  • 0.5 oz maple syrup

  • 1 Ice
rim sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon sugar for the rim
garnish
  • 1 Fresh cranberries and a rosemary sprig for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 shaker

Method

Rim and fill
  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass, then dip the rim in cinnamon sugar for an even coating.
  2. Fill the glass with ice so it chills the drink before shaking is strained in.
Shake and strain
  1. Shake blanco tequila, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, apple cider, fresh lime juice, and maple syrup with ice for 15 seconds until well mixed.
  2. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass so the drink lands over fresh ice and the cinnamon rim stays dry.
Garnish and serve
  1. Garnish with fresh cranberries and a rosemary sprig, then serve immediately.

Notes

For the cleanest presentation, keep the rim-coated edge dry until serving, then garnish right before the first sip. Storage: best made and served immediately; no refrigeration recommended for a margarita on the rocks. Freezer: no. Dietary swap: for a lower-sugar option, replace maple syrup with half the amount of agave syrup or a sugar-free maple syrup alternative.
